Resorts World Nears Completion on New York Casino in Hudson Valley

Resorts World Casino promises new jobs for locals

“When Resorts World first approached me nearly two years ago to seek support for a proposal to bring a gaming center to Orange County, I made it clear to them my priorities: jobs, revitalization of a plague and benefits for the local community. This project does all three.

The casino operation plans to create more 200 full-time jobsmostly unionized employees with an average annual salary of approximately $72,000. The company should also 200 workers involved in the construction of the casino.

About $65 million will be given to New York Lottery Education Fund each year to support public schools.

In addition, $3 million will go to the town of Newburgh each year, to benefit the Newburgh Public Safety Fund and community projects.
