New Jersey Online Casinos Break Record With Over $147 Million
Although it didn’t quite break the $152 million mark, the neighbor to the east of Pennsylvania had a fantastic month. New Jersey online casino revenue hit $147.2 million, set a record for the state and this is only the second time that online casinos have brought in more than $140 million.
Prior to last month, the record was $140.6 million.
October’s incredible figures represented a 15.9% increase year over year. October’s record online gambling revenue followed a historic September in which online casinos in the state topped $5 billion in all-time total revenue.
BetMGM helps break Michigan record with $141 million
As one of the top three online casino markets in the country, Michigan Online Casino records also have a chance of breaking US records. In October, online casinos in the state brought in $141 million, up 9.5% from September.
The previous high for a month was $132.4 million in April.
Michigan’s October was so good for online casinos that they counted the fourth highest month total online casino revenue in US history.
BetMGM Michigan brought in more than a third of the month’s total with $52.3 million in revenue. This total was a record for BetMGM. Four other operators also set records for monthly online gambling revenue:
- Eagle Casino & Sports
- four winds
In total, online casinos in Michigan generated $36.3 million in tax revenue for state and local entities.
The $150 million mark is achievable for the three main online casino markets
Looking ahead to the winter months, is it possible for New Jersey and Michigan to top $150 million in revenue? There was a time when this milestone might not have seemed possible.
However, Pennsylvania’s October record proves the $150 million mark is achievable.
And Pennsylvania may not be done with $150 million either. State online gambling revenues have records broken three times this year; a month of $155 million by the end of the year isn’t out of the question.
